The plot is on a slope from northeast to southwest with the access from the lower part. In this environment, the house was designed to follow the shape of a regular, trapezoidal plot, with the acceptance of certain insecurity in relation to neighboring factors. The specificity of the place influences the author’s decision to build an atrium house on the slanted terrain.
Organizationally, the staircase core in the middle of the floor plan divides the two tracts (front southwest and end northeast) forming a courtyard space by its indentation from the perimeter.
The plot has accesses at the end edges from the lower road on both sides. The level of the access street is about 2m lower than the ground floor. The entrance is reached on foot by ascending the gentle stairs that connect the ground floor plateau, and the driveway to the basement with garages, descends and extends down the southwest closed line of the façade.
The ground floor next to the main entrance is in the front segment of the kitchen with living room, pantry and toilets for guests. Behind the passing communication joint with the staircase and the elevator, in the rear part of the floor plan, there is a living room, a dining room and a study. The ground floor level is both an intertwined outer and inner surface. Horticulturally cultivated (trees and shrubs), and partly paved, the outer ground floor, slips into the inner space and integrates the spatial elements into one whole. Upstairs, three rooms with bathroom and laundry occupy the rear segment, while in the front is the master bedroom with living area, bathroom and dressing room. The premises of this tract provide access to terraces with great views of the city and neighboring slopes. The basement has a garage with three parking spaces, a direct entrance to the core, a space for socializing with a wine cellar, storage, engine room, guest toilet, and a gym with sauna and bathroom. The gym and engine room have a connection, and at the same time lighting through the lower, smaller atrium.
The house is designed with a low energy consumption approach. There are photovoltaic panels on the roof with a slight slope.
