SANGRAD + AVP architects is a collaboration between Vedran Pedišić (SANGRAD) and Erick Velasco Farrera (AVP), who have been running their offices in Zagreb since 2003 and 2007 respectively. Their first joint project began in 2008 with the competition for the Educational Complex Kajzerica, where they won first prize, and in 2010 they formally merged into the shared office SANGRAD + AVP.
The practice operates on a “working-from-home” concept with a compact team of up to ten architects, where the working environment is conceived as an extension of the home rather than a conventional office. This approach is reflected both in their workflow and in the architectural sensitivity of their projects.
Since its foundation, the office has received numerous national and international awards, including the Vladimir Nazor Award, Drago Galić Award, Viktor Kovačić Award, the Croatian Chamber of Architects Medal, and the HONOR AWARD 2023 (USA). Most projects are located in Croatia, alongside work in international contexts including Austria, Kenya, and Mexico.
Their work has been published in many relevant national and international publications. Their architectural approach is characterized by clarity and simplicity of form, a strong sensitivity to context and site, and a diverse, adaptable architectural language applied across different typologies.
SANGRAD + AVP architects are also known for their continuous participation in architectural competitions, with a high rate of awarded entries.
