The complex consists of one hotel and several apartment units. The decision was to approach fragmentarily but through a single, complete gesture. The apartments are stretches in the form of a segmented ribbon that winds along the northeastern longest edge of the plot (a structure in the lower relief zone). This particular volume meets the hotel’s body at the southeast point, which is the zone where the main access to the plot is located. For the composition of two different bodies, the hotel is entrusted with the widest and highest position of the plot, following its shape (floor plan layout) but at a different elevation. Developed with the form of „wings“, it hovers over the level of the apartments at the same time forming a horseshoe shape partially opened with an atrium that merges with the trees to the west. Thus, within the city of Biokovo, a new building fabric is proposed following the sharp edge of its park forest nearby, partly emphasizing its presence and participates in the city view, gradually descending towards the sea. The choice of materials is based on art that comes from the local context, from natural and artificial forms, from tradition and cultural standards, from trends and beliefs. The principle in the overall composition is unambiguous. The composition of elements is sublimated into three above-ground volumes. Individual, yet connected bodies are solid, accentuated masses in places where there are no views, i.e., transparent and glazed, in the depths and niches (loggias) in front of the rooms with amazing vistas towards the Mediterranean Sea. Each level of the hotel is merged with the environment through continuously glazed openings.
