The city and the house, that is, the urbanism of the settlement and each of its segments are of the same denominator. The base is a green, sustainable theme of the house interpreted through function and metaphor. The buildings are low-energy, compact masses with openings reduced to the bare necessities. Above the roof terraces are light pergolas of archetypal forms covered with green ivy, jasmine, wisteria and other herbs.
In the middle of the block, garden areas have been rasterized – plots intended for tenants. Above the gardens are light frames of possible pergolas. Contrary to the rectangular vocabulary of houses, gardens, parking lots and storage rooms, the rounded border created by the multiplication of the road radius is emphasized. The suggestion is a building on green islands, or hard in soft.
Trees and green climbers in the settlement should be deciduous – in winter they allow the sun to penetrate through the openings, reduce energy for heating and use artificial lighting in winter, and in summer protect against overheating and reduce the need to cool the building.
The topic of sustainability is partly projected through the gardens that are leased to the residents of the settlement (maintenance of green areas has been resolved in favor of the tenants).
The luxury of green pergolas and a passable roof is part of the logic of social perception of the topic of housing by creating opportunities for tenants of additional space provided for socializing neighbors or maintenance of technical devices (heat pumps or air conditioners).
Five types of residential buildings are envisaged. The artistic aspect is the same denominator for all houses. The full, hard volumes are softened by light, fluttering additions: pergolas over walk-through roofs and cantilevered balconies with light railings. Some types of buildings have notches in the form of shaded loggias or gaps with external staircases between two residential units.
Outdoor equipment in the environment around buildings such as pergolas over gardens, outdoor waste spaces or storage between parking spaces are provided as modular elements of the same material.
